Gulf of Oman shown in new Strike at Karkand DLC Video

Chris Evans November 28, 2011 0

Gulf of Oman was one of the best maps from Battlefield 2, hell the majority of the maps in that game were awesome and still blow away anything from Battlefield 3. So it is nice to see that the map that started it all with the Battlefield 2 demo is coming back in the Strike at Karkand DLC for the newest title in the series. Those classic vehicles are going to be wonderful to play with. Now for some maps from Battlefield 1942 to appear....

Assassin’s Creed Revelations – The Verdict

Assassin’s Creed Revelations – The Verdict

Assassin’s Creed Revelations is precisely the kind of product that makes you question if it’s worth reviewing game sequels. Even though the asking price troubles the comparison, intentionally missing out on playing Revelations would be like missing out on the latest episode of a TV drama – you’re only not going to play this game if you’re planning to rage quit on the entire series. And aside from a somewhat lacking sense of forward momentum in the series right now (and concerns that a rushed Assassin’s Creed 3 will suffer the same problems), there really is no reason to miss out on playing this game. Assassin’s Creed Revelations: buy it at some point before the next one. Review ends.

Saints Row The Third – The Verdict

Saints Row The Third – The Verdict

It seems rather alien now, to think that at one time the Saints Row series had somewhat of an identity crisis. An exclusive early 360 title, it was often – with good reason – compared to Grand Theft Auto, with a larger focus on gang warfare and a little more cartoonish than it’s most obvious rival. By the second game, Saints Row had firmly established an identity of it’s own, deciding to go down the silly OTT route, throwing faeces almost as far as it threw caution to the wind. Saints Row: The Third retains some of that garishness, but really shows a refinement in it’s delivery of the main story that marks it out in the series and more importantly, as it’s own title.

OnLiving in the past with Arkham City

OnLiving in the past with Arkham City

I was part of that masochistic dial-up brigade who persisted in trying to play online even though pings around the 300 mark were common. Back when LPB and HPB were abbreviations that people still used. Back when in-game voice communication wasn’t widespread and you didn’t have to listen to strangers threaten to interfere with your relatives.

Minecraft Officially Released!!!

Minecraft Officially Released!!!

Last weekend saw the first ever Minecon convention launch with a sell out 2 day event in Las Vegas. The event was to mark the official release of Minecraft and to show some of the plans for the future of Minecraft and other games Notch has been working on. To date 4.1 million people have already bought Minecraft and many changes have been made for the ‘final’ version. I say ‘final’ because its unlikely that no more improvements or updates will ever be made to what is possibly the most anticipated indie game ever.

Super Mario 3D Land – The Verdict

Super Mario 3D Land – The Verdict

So it would seem that the wait is finally over. Yes, after eight months of third party software – the quality of which has been extremely erratic – and some admittedly good remakes of classic N64 games from Nintendo, the 3DS finally seemingly has that killer-app that makes owning Nintendo’s newest foray into portable gaming so worthwhile. Indeed, it certainly goes without saying that any platform game starring Mario is by very definition going to well and truly exhibit itself a system-seller and, for the most part, Mario’s 3DS debut proves that the portly plumber’s still got it.
