So yes, that is indeed that. And I think… Nintendo just won the usual compeition of conferences for me personally, although Sony comes an incredibly close second. A huge return to the ‘core’ gaming audience for Nintendo, an enormous improvement in terms of upcoming 3DS titles and the Wii-U looks like it has masses of potential. The coming year in terms of games looks very exciting indeed.
And that’s it in terms of E3 Liveblogging from me it seems, unless I’ve forgotten any other conferences that’ll be streaming. Thanks for joining me and us here at The Reticule for the last couple of days. Stick around on The Reticule for almost certainly more opinions on what we’ve seen this year, and sound off in the comments what you thought of this year’s E3. Hope you enjoyed it!

He’s pretty much reinforcing how much the next Nintendo console is going to appeal to the non casual crowd. And for once I’m inclined to believe him.
18.10
And now they’re introducing the CEO of EA on stage: John Riticello, which is amazing for a Nintendo conference to have a third party developer on stage talking.
18.09
With Ninja Gaiden 3 on the end, Nintendo are certainly shouting out to the hardcore gamers this year.
18.08
Metro: Last Light, Tekken – you can draw on Jin’s face. Hands up everyone who’s going to draw something rude on Paul’s forehead…
18.06
And now footage from some games… Darksiders 2 , DIRT, Aliens Colonial Marines. I think Nintendo are saying HEY GAMERS, WE’RE BACK!
18.05
Now plenty of talking heads from various developers talking about the new console and new controller. Some more announcements – Tekken Wii Successor – Batman Arkham City (amazing!) Ghost Recon Online…
18.03
A new installment in the Lego series announced as the first ‘proper’ game for WiiU & 3DS – Lego City Stories. An open world game from TT Games.
18.02
Some more example experiences including how you can play mutliplayer and get an unfair advantage with the new controller, and how you can use it like a shield against stuff coming out of the TV.
18.00
I think it was a demonstration of what the Wii-U can do graphically. And it’s vastly greater than Wii if that’s the case.
17.59
A bird SOARS MEJESTICALLY through the sky. Lands on a tree which promptly blossoms. I think it’s a hayfever simulator, right Reggie?
17.59
Reggie’s back on stage – telling the gathered journalists about eight ‘interactive demonstrations’ of Wii-U on the show floor at E3. He’s showing us one of them now…
17.58
And now a surprise announcement – a new Smash Bros game for Wii-U and Nintendo 3DS after the studio has finished Kid Icarus. And they’ll work together ‘in some fashion’.
17.53
Although quick to point out it is NOT a handheld/portable console. You need the WiiU physical unit in range and able to connect to the controller to use it.
17.52
Two circle pads, a couple of triggers and shoulder buttons, microphone, camera, speakers. You don’t even need a telly with this by the looks. Got to hand it to Ninty, seems the perfect halfway house between games console and handheld.
17.51
Some more details, the screen is 6.2 inches. Touch sensitive. Works with ALL old Wii controller accessories. And then you don’t necessarily need to use the TV to do so.
17.49
And apparently lets you make video calls – seems Ninty are finally catching up with online stuff.
17.48
It’s got motion control, lets you continue the game you were playing on telly on the screen, and works with the nunchucks and balance board.
17.43
Now he’s talking about the Pokedex 3D which is on the E-Shop right now. Update your 3DS and go get, if you haven’t already…
17.41
Now Reggie’s onto talking about the 3DS E-Shop, launched today. There’s some trailers and Virtual Console stuff on now, and even demos coming soon…
17.40
Now some third party titles, Resi Mercs 3D, Tetris 3D, Cave Story 3D, Resi Revelations, Driver Renegade, Sonic and Mario and Summer Olympics, Pac Man & Galaga Dimensions, Tekken 3D, MGS Snake Eater 3D…
17.38
And now onto Luigi’s Mansion 2. Luigi really needs to find himself a more trustworthy Estate Agent…
17.37
Kid Icarus Uprising is going to have multiplayer and Augmented Reality card battles. I CHOOSE YO…wait, wrong franchise.
17.34
Got to say, it looks pretty impressive – sort of a cross between Mario 64 and the side scrolling New Super Mario Bros games…
17.33
Super Mario 3D – made specifically for the 3DS, rather than a port/updated version. Some gameplay footage now…
17.32
Starfox 3D next. It’s using the gyros in the 3DS to control the spaceships, very very smart. Including able to see your opponents in multiplayer using the camera. Out September.
17.31
It seems customising your Kart is going to be a thing in this one. Hopefully without Xzibit. PIMP YO RIDE!
Mario Kart’s coming towards the end of this year.
17.30
Some actual gameplay footage, in 2D mind. I thought for a minute he was going to reveal the return of the Ladieswith3DSes for a moment…
17.28
So Reggie’s formally announcing them despite me missing that first video. That’s a relief. First up is MarioKart 3D
17.24
He’s teasing the reveal of the new platform. With an even wider appeal to all gamers than the Wii. Which would be something…
17.21
Soundtrack CDs, and a big thank you from Shigsy to the Zelda fans for their support over the last 25 years. Wait, is that an ORCHESTRA they’ve got there? I never noticed!
17.17
Now we’re onto Skyward Sword, Shigsy’s telling us how it’s good exercise for his arm. Careful there Shigsy, nearly stepped into innuendo territory there…
17.16
A reminder that Zelda Ocrina of Time on 3DS is coming in a couple of weeks, and an announcement that Zelda Four Swords is coming out on DSiWare
17.15
Oh hell yes. Starting today Link’s Awakening is getting released on 3DS E-Store TODAY. And it only opened today. A great start.
17.13
The theme the orchestra was playing was specifically the theme from the new title Skyward Sword. Now Shigsy’s getting the orchestra to play pieces from the various games through the years.
17.08
More specifically, it’s a montage of every Zelda game past to present, with the Orchestra playing an amalgamation of all the various themes.
17.05
Switched feeds. It hasn’t started yet though, thankfully. We’ve got some jolly guitar music and Nintendo trivia on the screen. An Orchestra pipes up with footage of Zelda and we’re OFF!

I want to find out more about the console itself and games for it.
It took a while, but they are finally showing off something good
