Assassin’s Creed 3 Debut Trailer

Assassin’s Creed 3 Debut Trailer

We all knew the basics of Assassin’s Creed 3 last week, but with this debut trailer we now have some action of the game that is going to be set in 18th Century North America. Assassin’s Creed 3 will put you in the boots of Ratohnaké:ton, an assassin of Native American and English heritage who goes by the easier to pronounce name of Connor.

The fifth main release in the series is going to use the all new Ubisoft-AnvilNext game engine and has twice the production values of any other Ubisoft title.

The game is locked in for release on the 31st of October this year for release on PC, 360 and PS3. A WiiU version is also in development.

Who is keen on the American setting, was I alone in wanting to see it take place in industrial revolution era London? Regardless of what I wanted, this is looking good from the debut trailer, and mention of an all new game engine is always welcome. I’ve been playing Revelations and it is noticeable now that the current engine is wearing itself thin. Ubisoft also claim a development cycle of over three years which makes me smile, this isn’t a quick job like Brotherhood and Revelations can be claimed to be.

The WiiU release sounds promising, of course we need to wait to find out more about Nintendo’s console, but with a big hit like Assassin’s Creed coming to it, it has a bit more depth to the game range than the usual glut of Mario and Zelda offerings.
