Cleaning Up The Drives

Cleaning Up The Drives

It has come to my attention that my hard drives are getting somewhat full, I have 38GB left on my 500GB drive and 94GB left on my 250GB drive. In a world where a game like DiRT 2 takes up 10GB of space you start to realise how much of a priority space becomes. When you are in a line of work like I am, you find that space taken up with games, demos, press kits, FRAPS shots, music and…

Setting a Target

Setting a Target

There are certain games where it is important to set yourself a goal for what you want to achieve. It may be that you want to be the best Spy on your side in Team Fortress 2, or you may decide that as a Special Ops in Battlefield 2 you want to keep the opponents’ assets out of action. My goal at the moment is on a little game called Football Manager 2011.

A Right To Express

A Right To Express

There is a case going through the Supreme Court over in the USA at the moment which could drastically change how games are both made, and sold on the other side of the Atlantic. It is an issue which has caused Insomniac Games boss Ted Price to express his concerns over what would happen if the law is allowed to be passed.

Ch-Ch-Changes

Ch-Ch-Changes

Changes are afoot here at The Reticule! Well maybe only minor, but I would like to take this moment to welcome freelancer Michael Johnson to the team. You may have seen Michael writing on CriticalGamer and it is a pleasure to have him join the team, please, make him feel welcome.

Titan Stomp!

Titan Stomp!

I love Torchlight, I really really do, it is one of those games which you can just jump back into at any time without feeling like you have lost touch with what to do or how to play. Time Flies By….

Time Flies By….

500 Hours (Nearly)

500 Hours (Nearly)

I was talking to a friend at work the other day about games and we talked about Battlefield 2 for a bit and for how long we played the game for. I knew that I had played for aroud 500 hours, but I wanted to check out what my stats really were. Hello BF2s for the first time in years.

The Coverage of Mac (and Linux) Games

The Coverage of Mac (and Linux) Games

Since writing my article on Mac gaming a while back I have been thinking about the coverage of Mac and Linux games on mainstream ‘PC’ gaming sites and magazines. I am thinking about places like PC Gamer (the magazine and the website) and Rock, Paper, Shotgun along with The Reticule.

A Return To Space With Battlezone

A Return To Space With Battlezone

Years ago my parents bought what was at the time a new PC, it came with a few freebies, one of the best was Battlezone a game which mixed first-person combat elements with base control and resource management normally found in real-time strategy games.

The Evil Football Manager

The Evil Football Manager

I used to be evil, well and truly evil when playing old version of Championship Manager and Football Manager. I was young, foolish manager obsessed with winning and destroying rival teams no matter what the cost. I will admit that what I did was wrong, it was not the honourable way of playing the beautiful game.
