Game of Thrones – New Screenshots

Focus Interactive have today released some new screenshots of their upcoming game based on the current hot property: Game of Thrones: Genesis. The strategy game, being developed by Blood Bowl developers Cyanide Studios, promises to take players “into the heart of the battles and intrigues between the Houses that shaped the Kingdom of Westeros.” Covering “more than 1000 years” of the history of the A Song of Fire & Ice Saga, we’re promised that victory will come from “more than brute force” with military, economic and even dirty tactics all being viable options.

Game of Thrones: Genesis is set to launch sometime this summer with a singleplayer campaign written “under supervision” from the author of the series, George R.R. Martin himself and will support up to eight players in it’s multiplayer modes. No word yet if it’ll be renamed Game of Thrones: Mega Drive for the European market, mind….

  1. Game of Thrones – awesome book series
Game of Thrones – awesome TV show
Game of Thrones – mediocre looking screenies

  2. I bet GRRM wishes he had held onto the license until after the TV series aired and his books shot to the top of the bestsellers lists now, he’d have made a pretty penny and perhaps got a major studio to do the adaptation. ASOIAF fans are pretty hardcore and Cyanide will be under a lot of pressure to deliver.

    1. For sure Cyanide will be under pressure, they have done games like Pro Cycling Manager and Blood Bowl, but they are also working on an RPG with Orcs in which we covered briefly here a few months ago. So they have some potential to do a good job, depends on what team is doing it I guess.
