Mode 7 Games, fresh off publishing the well received Tokyo 42 have today announced they are working with Codebyfire to publish The Colonists, a settlement building game inspired by classic titles like The Settlers and the Anno series. The Colonists will be launching on Early Access in August, so not long to wait to see what it is all about.

Mode 7 clearly aren’t content with working on Frozen Synapse 2, and The Colonists will be the second game they have published. In The Colonists, you take control of a team of robots preparing a new land for their friends on their home planet to arrive. You will advance through the Stone Age to the Space Age with the chance to set up the infrastructure required by constructing road, boat, train and drone networks.

Codebyfire is a one man studio from Richard Wallis and is aiming high with a singleplayer campaign, freeplay mode along with competitive multiplayer and co-op. Lofty goals!
