Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms Receives Early Access Update
I gave Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms a quick whirl in June and was quietly impressed. It certainly lacked the gravitas and free-flow of other action-RPGs like Diablo III, but there was promise. It might have improved since then, and the latest update sounds good.
The updated build makes Evia, Daughter of Fire playable, she had been locked out when I played it a few months ago. I had been quite disappointed Evia’s mage abilities were present, so I might try and take another peak at the game before release. Perhaps more intriguingly though, the crafting system has now been introduced along with an enhanced skill system which provides players with more freedom when selecting their skills.
Heretic Kingdoms will be released in two main phases, known as books. Book I: Devourer of Souls has been confirmed for release on 19th November 2014) with Book II: Age of Demons due sometime in February 2015.
The most recent developer diary was released a few weeks, check it out:
Anyone else been trying this out, what do you make of it?
