History is a funny thing. Napoleon said “History is a set of lies agreed upon.” Easily misread, misunderstood or misinterpreted, it is written by the victors and those who do not remember it are condemned to repeat it. Perhaps that is why Assassin’s Creed III comes to deliver a bloody rendition of the American Revolutionary War in video game format.
I have spent six hours with the latest tale of Assassins and Templars, learning, scheming, killing. After everything that has happened, most of all I know I have only scratched the surface of the story Assassin’s Creed III wants to tell.
It is almost time for Connor Kenway to slash and burn across the American east coast, slaughtering royalists and pseudo-revolutionaries and bears alike. In this launch trailer, we see a little of what’s in store and how the boy Ratonhnhaké:ton became the killer in the white hood.
Ubisoft’s upcoming release, Assassin’s Creed 3, now has its very own multiplayer trailer explaining many of the details you should expect upon release in just under two weeks time. The trailer shows the ins and outs of everything from location of the maps, to character classes and abilities available to you on the battlefield. It also gives us the first information on the new co-op game types named Wolf Pack and Domination.
The narrator goes on to say:
In wolf pack enemies found throughout the map must be killed and eliminated before time runs out, or you yourself will perish. In Domination however, teams work together to capture territories and defend them from their enemies in order to claim victory over the land.
The trailer also makes it clear that each map location will vary in appearance as the weather changes. One scene shows what the same map looks like with three different types of weather conditions.
Multiplayer was a surprise success and enjoyment for me and many others in Assassin’s Creed 2. It really looks as if Ubisoft have gone all out to build on that success and improve and refine the multiplayer as much as they can this time around.

If numbers are your forte then hold your breath for some impressive figures heading your way, courtesy of Assassin’s Creed III‘s new trailer. Ubisoft are showcasing the capabilities of new engine AnvilNext, boasting some impressive stats in the process.
Over a thousand new animations have been added for Connor alone, allowing for more freedom and fluidity when fighting and climbing. A whole host of new abilities make the combat look far more impressive than in previous releases in the series, probably something to do with the awesome tomahawk and hidden knife combos being raked up almost effortlessly.
The numbers don’t stop there. Up to a possible two thousand NPC’s can be present in one area at any time, giving massive scope to battle scenes and no doubt making cities and towns feel like bustling and energetic environments. AI intelligence has also been dramatically improved, leading to neighbourhoods and surrounding areas looking far more advanced than previously.
Four seasons of weather have been introduced to change landscapes and force you to adapt to differing combat situations. Updated visuals also factor into the trailer as you would expect with any new release.
