Valve Ready More Counter-Strike and DOTA2 Goodies – No Half-Life 3 Leaves The World Sad

Valve Ready More Counter-Strike and DOTA2 Goodies – No Half-Life 3 Leaves The World Sad

Valve have managed to bring joy to two thirds of the PC gaming population while leaving the other third wishing they had some news to hold onto. I am of course talking about news regarding Dota 2 and Counter-Strike and the (continued) absence of news about the mysterious less spotted Half-Life 3. What news do I bring? Hit the break…

Global Offensive is GO GO GO!

Global Offensive is GO GO GO!

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive officially left beta an hour or so ago on Steam after a lengthy beta period and it will be coming to PSN and Xbox Live tonight and tomorrow morning. Valve have released a chunk of data from the beta in a handy infographic which you can see after the break. Counter-Strike 1.6 and Source to be supported after Global Offensive release

It is interesting to think that when Counter-Strike: Global offensive is released, there will be three games remaining active in the Counter-Strike series. With 1.6 and Source still regularly appearing at the top of the play lists on Steam stats, I thought it was important to ask Valve’s Chet Faliszek what would happen with the older titles when Global Offensive is released. He told me on the Eurogamer Expo showfloor that “We will keep supporting 1.6 with exploit fixes and CS:S with the same thing, but we don’t want to change those games, while here with CS:GO during the beta we will take the feedback from the community and maybe make it something different.”
