When you consider all of the love (and sometimes, the grumbles) that I give to the Football Manager series, you might think that I started my management game life with something like Championship Manager 3. You’d be wrong, as my first sporting love was Formula 1, not football, and in turn, my first experience of in-game management was with Microprose’s brilliant, Grand Prix Manager 2. I loved that game to bits, and I might finally have something to replace it with Motorsport Manager. …
A new trailer has been released for F1 Race Stars and it shows off some truly wild and wacky looking tracks waiting to be raced all over. It looks extremely fun and shows off much more than what I saw when I went hands on. I maintain that it will be more of a party game than a singleplayer game, and the trailer seems to support my idea showing off some great looking split screen action. Check it out after the break. …
If Formula 1 is a bit too serious for you, and the racing titles are too simulation-like for you, then F1 Race Stars from Codemasters might just be the one for you. This OTT racer, due this November on PC, 360 and PS3. The trailer is below, and is one of the best trailer for a racing game I have seen as it just exudes fun and has a great visual style which I sincerely hope is matched in the game. Trailer and quotes after the break. …
I do wish to declare that I believe F1 2011 including a co-op season mode is a very good idea. For once you will have the chance to both work with your co-op buddy, and also to utterly ruin his game. Imagine, you both have been racing at the very limit of abilities of your car all season and have managed to secure the Constructors Championship, a perfect bit of team-work. It is the last race of the season, you have a gentleman’s agreement that the guy who leads into the first corner will keep the race lead, only to totally ruin his race, and your friendship, by knocking him out of the race to secure the win and the Drivers Championship. That sounds awesome.
