I Yearn To Quick Save

I Yearn To Quick Save

Quick saving is an important part of many PC games, it is a feature which I have come to rely on in many cases, I have lost track of the number of times I have quick saved in games like Half-Life and the early Call of Duty titles. For me, quick saving is almost something which I think should be found in every game.

Looking Back at Half-Life Uplink

Looking Back at Half-Life Uplink

Half-Life Uplink is, for those of you who aren’t aware, the classic demo for the original Half-Life. It is also the first taste of Half-Life that I experienced some ten years ago or more when I came across the demo on an old demo CD that came with a long-gone PC magazine.

On The Enemies of Half-Life

On The Enemies of Half-Life

After seemingly hours spent fighting my way through Combine Metro Cops and manhacks I was glad to see those cute little headcrabs launch themselves up towards my face. It was something of a relief to see these, the most basic of alien life form you find in the Half-Life universe. Return to Black Mesa

Return to Black Mesa

When I was a kid I owned Half Life for three hours. It’s by no coincidence this timeframe aligns with how long it’d take for my soft plump legs to carry me back and forth from the shop where I’d feverishly fondle those boxes of potential glee, pluck a few of the best from their nest, hold them to my chest so as others could not grasp the games I’d graced with esteemed paw-marks, lengthily consider and ultimately identify the…

Half-Life is Ten

Half-Life is Ten

The all time classic that is known as Half-Life is now celebrating its 10th Birthday and it is time to celebrate. Ok so it turned 10 properly yesterday, but who cares about that really? What is important to know is that one of the defining games of our generation has been on shelves around the world for 10 years. It is a game that has had a profound effect on myself, and I am sure on many other people. I…
