This is very much a moment for me to through some things floating around my head onto the site and to give a little bit of an insight into how I at least do interviews for The Reticule and why I do them like I do. This very much is a result of reading Alec Meer’s tremendous conversation with Ken Levine, the man behind BioShock: Infinite on Rock, Paper, Shotgun. Here is Part One and Part Two. With certain new games set for release at ever higher prices, while others (such as Men of War) have a distinctly lower price point and regular sales, it seems time (as ever, I suppose though) to think about what games should cost. Rather than blathering on in an opinionated fashion, I did a little survey, firing off a short list of questions to a section of The Reticule’s eminent friends in development to see what they thought about it.

My name is Mercurio Silver, and I don’t like… Interviews

Mercurio Silver – Gentleman Critic. Found in a public restroom in Camberwell, passing judgement on the merit contained within certain examples of graffiti present on the walls, he attached himself to the staff of your favourite gaming blog and refused to let go. In an ill-conceived attempt to get him to stop judging our various fashion styles as “contrived and unprecedented in their ugliness”, we at The Reticule gave him an article through which, hopefully, he can vent his spleen.

Today, I think we’ve duly outdone ourselves, as we chitchat with a man in possession of the most wondrous willingness of all. This man is Mikkel Overby, Commercial Director of Serious Games – the people who made Global Conflicts: Palestine and GC: Latin America.
