This week has been filled with emails concerning release dates for a number of indie titles. It is always good to see indie’s getting released, though with the ever increasing number of games hitting platforms such as Humble Bundle and Steam, it is a wonder any of them actually get played, even if they are purchased for bargain basement prices. I dropped the name of Project CARS the other day when I was talking about the announcement of GRID Autosport and followed it up by having a quick blast with a BMW around Rouen-Les-Essarts where I promptly binned it in the barriers. Then, a few days later, Slightly Mad Studios released their first official trailer for the game which I have handily embedded after the break.

I first talked about Wargame: Red Dragon at the tail end of February where I bemoaned the fact that the Red Dragon of the title has nothing to do with the Welsh dragon. It still gripes me, but I am somewhat appeased by news that you can pre-order the game now on Steam which will grant you exclusive access to the multiplayer beta which will kick off in the coming days. It might face some competition from Titanfall and Dark Souls II, but sometimes people need an RTS to keep them company.
It is not often that a trailer for a videogame makes me immediately think of wrestling, but this latest trailer for Tomb Raider certainly does. It features a group of people making comments as if they are Lara interspersed with clips from the game. I immediately imagined this could be used as a promo video in the WWE to advertise a major PPV with various wrestlers talking about their upcoming match with clips highlighting the feud they are currently involved in.
Or am I just a bit mad?
Slow-burn underground hit, European Truck Simulator 2, still sitting in the Top 20 sellers on Steam is going to be receiving an Eastern European themed DLC pack in the coming months. The map expansion will have a strong focus on Poland, a country in which developers SCS Software have seen great success and support.
The team at SCS have released a bunch of early images of some of the cities that will feature in the expansion, and they look a lot more detailed than the locations that can be explored in the base game. You can check the out, along with a map of the expanded road network after the break.
Squeenix have released a new video for Tomb Raider with an awful American voice-over which shows off some of the new elements in the upcoming franchise reboot. If you can ignore the voice-over you will see some pretty cool ideas such as the Base Camp and Lara’s bow. Some aspects shown off made me think of Far Cry 3, just in a third-person perspective. A new trailer has been released for F1 Race Stars and it shows off some truly wild and wacky looking tracks waiting to be raced all over. It looks extremely fun and shows off much more than what I saw when I went hands on. I maintain that it will be more of a party game than a singleplayer game, and the trailer seems to support my idea showing off some great looking split screen action. Check it out after the break.
