Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn takes place in the fictional land of Eorzea, five years after the events of the original release. Through the gods’ blessing, the player character escapes the devastation by time traveling five years into the future. As Eorzea recovers and rebuilds, the player must deal with the impending threat of invasion by the Garlean Empire from the north.

Remember Me features exploration, platforming, stealth, and melee combat. The game introduces the mechanic of ‘memory remixing’: entering and rearranging a target’s memories to manipulate them. Players accomplish this by replaying a memory and modifying details to change the target’s recollection of the outcome. Another key mechanic of gameplay is stealing memories from specific targets and using points called Remembranes to replay the memory in real-time: this is often needed to proceed through the game or avoid hazards otherwise hidden from the player.

The game is built on Relic’s proprietary Essence 3.0 engine, which showcases new improvements compared to Relic’s previous games. One such improvements is the new line-of-sight technology, TrueSight,[9] which aims to better emulate troop visibility in real combat. In contrast with traditional unit visibility, TrueSight more accurately represents a unit’s visibility range based on environmental conditions and type of unit. Essence 3.0 will also incorporate an innovative weather-simulating technology known as ColdTech and destructible environments.

IGN have released an exclusive Dark Souls 2 gameplay demo earlier today. Whilst looking very similar to the previous game, it’s apparent that a lot of improvements have been made both visually and gameplay wise. These are talked about during the demo by Yui Tanimura, director of From Software and Tak Miyazoe, Global producer of Namco Bandai. Hit the break to see the full 12 minutes of gameplay.

Star Trek is expected to be a single-player action game with cooperative gameplay elements allowing two people to control Kirk and Spock. The two characters are intended to show different gameplay techniques, with Kirk being the more typical shooter while Spock has stealth techniques and can use both the Vulcan nerve pinch and mind meld. Each are armed with weapons to reflect their gameplay style, with Kirk armed with a phaser equipped with a stun setting, while Spock’s weapon is quieter and freezes enemies instead.
