The trouble with working six days a week and running a games website is that it is so easy to miss a massive bit of headline news. It saddens me to say then that I missed a tweet last Monday from Sports Interactive studio director Miles Jacobson which revealed a massive bit of news about Football Manager 2014:

Valve certainly aren’t shying away from showing off what they are working on with their attempts to take over the living room as they have today released a new video showing off their innovative new controller.
I’m a purist full-fat fan when it comes to Football Manager, I need the proper no-holds barred Career experience. I appreciate that the depth of this isn’t for everyone which is why I was pleased to see the introduction of the Classic mode in last years game. I hate busy weeks, it means that I miss things like this new trailer for Rack N Ruin. It is a game from LifeSpark Entertainment, a studio set up by former Blizzard artist Tyler Hunter. Hit the break for some details.
Call me crazy (please do), but something about the new gameplay trailer for HARDWARE Shipbreakers reminded me of that classic FPS/RTS mash-up Battlezone. Something about not being set on Earth, the sounds of the radar and the voice overs made me think of the unique game. Back on track, after last weeks teaser trailer, this new video features some in-game footage with the UI and a little bit of action between some funky flying units and a squad of vehicles led by that massive Baserunner truck from last week. I did want to get back into the Beta for Company of Heroes 2 last weekend, but somewhere along the line, time got away from me. Probably because I was too busy playing Mars: War Logs. Despite that setback, it is still on my list of things to play more, and this latest trailer does the game justice and does a good job of explaining why we should be prepared to play this before the next big FPS. After all the hullabaloo last week around the Xbone, it is nice to experience some sanity with a true PC game like Company of Heroes. Trailer can be found after the break.
I’ve got so many different games I want to be playing, and yet not enough time. What I really want to be playing is Company of Heroes 2 which I somehow haven’t played for month even though the beta kicks arse. To keep myself somewhat in touch with it, I hunted down any new videos that had emerged for it over the past weeks. This one which appeared yesterday get a bit talky with two Russians talking about the war in what seems like a post-1945 interrogation. It is listed as a story trailer and also shows off a bit of action.
With the release of the new Star Trek game just a few days away, developers Digital Extremes have seen fit to release a couple of new videos. The first gives a little more insight into the actual plot of the game, the character backgrounds and the appearance of the Gorn. The second shows some behind the scenes footage of the actors recording their voice parts for the game.
It is not often that a trailer for a videogame makes me immediately think of wrestling, but this latest trailer for Tomb Raider certainly does. It features a group of people making comments as if they are Lara interspersed with clips from the game. I immediately imagined this could be used as a promo video in the WWE to advertise a major PPV with various wrestlers talking about their upcoming match with clips highlighting the feud they are currently involved in.
Or am I just a bit mad?
The third Guide to Survival video for the new Tomb Raider was released last week and I’ve finally got around to watching it myself. After the amazing Rope Arrow in the second Guide to Survival I was wondering what would catch my eye this time around. At the start of the video Lara gets attacked by a wolf and then does some Uncharted-esque things until the best moment…Lara is shown raiding some tombs!
