This Is The End

This Is The End

It is a sad day here at The Reticule, but it is a day that has been a long time coming. I am sad to reveal that The Reticule is going offline and there won’t be any new content published.

It has been a long and very exciting ride since a small group of us started this place back in November 2008, but these things don’t last forever and as the team slowly moved on to bigger and brighter things and various problems with the server move cropped up it became clear to me that things weren’t quite as they used to be. So I have taken the choice to bring and end to activity on the site, the site won’t be closing down/taken down any time soon, but don’t expect new content.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to read what we wrote, it was a wonderful journey.

Update – 3rd June 2021

If you’ve found this post, you’ll notice that the ‘Old Reticule’ content has been re-merged back into the current site. That counts as a success to me.

  1. Sad news, for sure, Chris & Staff. I hope that whatever you people do, you do it as great as here.

I won´t forget those interviews -A.I. Wars, 1C, Dear Esther & Korsakovia´s creator- and so much good moments of rejoy & excitation -as a N64 mad kid- I had.

As a foreigner reader and as PC gamer, I can only say: Thanks for all the great moments we -readers- had!

  2. I was only with the Reticule a short time, but Chris was a top bloke and a great editor to work for. I wish you all the best mate.

  3. Thanks for all the kind comments, I would like to thank everyone who was involved in the site in any way shape or form and all the developers who contributed to interviews and such like.

As many will know already, Steve is Deputy Editor at Resolution and I will be doing some freelance work there and getting my old blog evo-gamer.com running once again pretty soon.

Hopefully you will all still be able to see most of us writing elsewhere in some capacity :)

  4. Wow.. what a shame…. this was the only game related website that escaped the attention of my workplace internet filters, and i enjoyed hours of non-productivity while reading your reviews. Shame to see you go! best of luck….

  5. Darn it. I witnessed a growing silence here before I shamefully admit; I deleted my toolbar link and stopped checking in regularly.

Well.. I hope you folks drop in at tap-repeatedly some time and say hello =)
